Congratulations to Michael Meehan from Manorcunningham who has been elected as the new incoming President of the County Donegal Historical Society at their Annual General Meeting in Stranorlar this week. He succeeds retiring President Joe Gatins from Laghey on the completion of his three-year term.

Michael Meehan has been a member of the management committee of the County Donegal Historical Society for over 12 years and has previously served as a trustee and treasurer. In a short speech afterwards, he thanked the large gathering for their support and trust, and looked forward to working on their behalf in the future.
Michael’s passion for the history and heritage of County Donegal is clearly evident as he also holds the positions of Chairperson of his local Raymochy Historical Society, and Chairperson of Donegal Ancestry.
